Despite regular use of a rotary electric tooth brush , i do have a problem with certain foods ( particularly meats) getting stuck in the gaps between my teeth requiring flossing. I obtained this unit for evaluation via the amazon vine system. I currently regularly use various mouthwashes to inhibit plaque growth. Some are mild , others have marked levels of essential oil flavouring. I cannot comment as to how this unit stacks up against any other philips variant of this product but do have a concern as to their comments to avoid mouthwashes containing isopropyl myristate ( ipm – presumably a plastics incompatibility??)or high levels of essential oils – many mouthwashes use mint / menthol flavourings. I would have thought that they would have supplied / recommended a mouthwash of their own. The product arrived well packed with the power unit , charger , the instruction manual and two spray heads separate. The spray heads are said to need replacing every six months. Initial tests with water then an alcohol free , low mint flavoured ,mouthwash gave the following results:-with simple water ( make sure the nozzle is firmly attached or it will leak / fly off) and the triple blast mode , any trapped strings of meat were readily removed. Not sure if this has displaced any plaque or will simply place the mouthwash neatly on the plaque.
Didn’t think i would but i do. The proof of the pudding will be in what the hygienist says on my next visit.
I love this item i have used them before and got great results the opportunity to use 3 stream powers are great i used number 2, kept my gums nice and clean. I did buy a cheaper version tho with just one option and hate it so defo would say get this one rather than getting the cheaper option.
You can actually feel the trapped bits blowing out from between teeth. Very good product and good service.

Great, dentist advised this to prevent wisdom tooth gum flap infections. Have now used for 4 months and have not had any wisdom tooth problems since.
Dentist told me to get it as i got a hard to floss spot that was getting really bad. I fill it with mouthwash as air doesn’t quite have the punch i need. With mouthwash (or water) its very good.
This is a cool not-so-little gadget, but as a regular flosser i’m not convinced it’s any better than ye olde floss i get from boots. Not often – once a fortnight – but charge it does. B) it takes up quite a lot of space, so not ideal if you’re travelling. Plus you need to keep it dry and clean or it gets gunky like your electric toothbrush when you take the head off *yeuch*. C) it isn’t as powerful as physical floss. I purposely ate some spinach to see how the flosser dealt with it, and it wasn’t as powerful as i’d hoped – that is, it didn’t dislodge the veg. I needed to use the old fashioned stringy stuff to get rid. D) it’s very hard to get behind the teeth at the very back of your mouth and you don’t get that “just flossed feel” with this device so you can’t be sure if you have missed any gaps. The instructions tell you to keep your mouth shut when you depress the button and shoot water in between your teeth, but that’s easier said than done. The jet is tiny but powerful, and i found myself spattering the mirror despite my best intentions. All in all – i’m a big fan of flossing, but i will be sticking to the traditional methods which i know keep my teeth clean.
